I am looking for assistance from UK members.

Recently, the Royal Mint/Royal Australian Mint/Royal Mail & the Australia Post jointly released this issue with a world wide mintage of 30,000 (refer to the Aussie Coins Forum).

Of this lot, 5,000 was sold in Australia and the other 25,000 was sold in the UK through your Royal Mail.

Of interest to Aussie collectors is the plain coat of arms reverse designed 50 cents. We have established that this coin was minted exclusively for inclusion in this PNC only and will not be minted for circulation.

The second coin in this PNC is a UK 50 pence in BU grade.

Questions in which we have no answers are:

1. IS the UK 50 pence also exclusively minted for inclusion in this PNC, hence the BU grade?

2. If not, what is the mintage of the UK coin?

3. It is rumoured the 50 pence was in fact minted in Australa, is this correct?

I have tried to search for answers from The Royal Mint site, but cannot find any reference to this issue. The only reference I can find is in the Royal Mail site but it is not informative.

My advance thanks to any UK member who can help out.

Cheers.....Lim

The mintage figures haven't been released, but the BU Britannia 50p is also included in the Specimen (BU Mint) folder set, therefore it is NOT exclusive to this PNC.
