Hello! Today I bought a couple of buffalos (I'm starting a set) and one of them is this datless nickel, wich looks to be like a type 1 B-nickel. Is it heavily worn, or is it a type 1 reverse? Any help would be appreaciated, thanks!

No way it's type 1

Here is a Type 1:

I agree type 1. A type two would not wear totally flat like that at that height. It should be about level with the fields. Btw that's the most worn Buffalo nickel I have seen.

That is not a Type 1 coin. It is a type 2. Notice the lack of a raised mound compared to the image I posted, which has the raised mound?

I can tell you it's a type 2 without even looking at the reserve. The left ribbon on the Indian is wavy, which signifies 1920, 1921, or 1924. It's hard to distinguish which with the picture and that level of wear, but it's definitely one of those three years, hence a type 2.

That one has been around the block (and through many hands) more than a few times.

After examining the ribbon more closely, I'm going to say this is almost definitely a 1920 or 1921. With the area where the hair detail would be in the 21 though, it's pretty much impossible to tell. Based FG on sheer mintage numbers, I'll guess it's most likely 1920.

That Buffalo nickel is barely a coin anymore. Its more like a nugget.
