Maybe it's old news here, but I found out it's near impossible to find a set of these free of blatant marks on the portrait side of the coins. Curiously, the obverse side of all five coins is normally pretty clean.

I only have 4 RCM issues, and all are from 1998, my daughter's birth year. So, I rarely see RCM products. This issue in particular though, seems problematic.

Is that what others have found? I'm wondering if this is common knowledge, or just a problem with new old stock.

Thx, Mark
Rest in Peace

This was discussed on a couple of earlier threads.
Type in " RCM Antique Finish" in the search forum.

I believe scratches are common on most sets as the antique look was a finish put on the silver coins and probably got scratched during manufacturing.
I know my set has minor scratches on the obverse.
