I've got some items posted that I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

If this is a model sovereign, why is it so worn?

It wouldn't have been struck very strongly to start with, and it was probably used as either play money or a card game counter.

Hard to read this thing, but "1792" and "Parliament" are clear as is the TR stamp.Image is of a seated person.

That was enough info to let me find it. It's what's known as a "Conder token", struck in Britain during a coin shortage over there; also saw circulation in the USA, hence their popularity there.

This one is actually Irish, and probably a halfpenny; here's what it would look like in nicer condition (though that's a farthing, or half-halfpenny). There are many varieties listed, mostly to do with the number of strings on the harp and the lettering around the edge. Can you read any lettering around the edge?

G'day, regarding "The Prince of Wales - Model Half Sovereign" - this is a very punny political comment:
the PoW is first in line to the throne, ie, the King or Queen's eldest son; so the PoW might be described as a "Half Sovereign".
In the time of Queen Victoria, her son, who later became King Edward VII, was anything but a "model" - at least as far as behaviour was concerned.
As I understand it, these tokens were made for gaming. They had to resemble coins in order to be interesting. But, they also had to be readily discernable as different, otherwise the makers would risk being dealt with as counterfeiters.

Thanks, I suspected the beat up one was some kind of Token. Is there any online reference for Conder tokens? I suspect I have about 5 of them sitting around and I'd like to id them too.
