Hello I am Gary from Kentucky. Just joined a few days ago. So still trying to learn everything on the site. I started collecting coins a few years ago after my dad passed away. He collected some coins out of his pocket change. So I thought I would try to keep it going. I started collecting the JFK's half dollars , just trying to get one from every year. And then I collected some Indian head pennies and V-nickels. I'm not trying to get rich off it I just enjoy keeping it going for my dad. I like to get a coin from every year but really don't know what coins would be the best and not that expensive but could be hard to find down the road. Any suggestions would be great. I basically know what coins have silver and which ones don't. But don't know if I ndian head pennies would be better to go after than V-nickels. lol But anyways I'm glad I am here, and just wanted to say hey!

You've found the right place to be. Best of luck with your coin collection. you asked about IHC and V-NICKELS. I would say most CCF members would prefer to collect the Indians. but the earlier dates will be tough to get unless your budget is no problem. now the V-NICKELS are easier to obtain without spending too much. except for the 1885 key. and a couple of other dates which will be up there in price. happy collecting.

There is nothing more important than keeping it going for your Dad! You are absolutely doing the right thing! It is ok to branch out into new areas too - like large cents, 1/2 cents and colonials. Check them out. to CCF!

Thanks, I have some large Canada Large cents, 1912,1915,1916,1918, and Large Great Britian Pennies- 1875,1902,1908,1910,1912,1915,1918,1920, and a Australian half Penny its 1917, and a 1911 Austrailian Large cent. Don't think they are worth much. But pretty neat coins. But think I enjoy the American coins the most.
