So when I found that big penny I was going through a box of 2x2 pennies from my dad, well tonight while going through a box of his 2x2 nickels I found this.

Wow, I have never seen an example with such a cameo!

That's an attractive big nickel medal. Is it 38mm? There were a lot of different issues (8) with varieties.

Yes it is 38mm and because I had never seen one before I didn't know what condition they came in. The coin is near flawless so my dad must have put it in the 2x2 right away. I will have to ask him when and where he got it. So does the heavy cameo mean an early strike with fresh die?

Dad says he belonged to a coin club in the 60s and the penny and nickel were given free to members.
