Hi, This is a Russian Rouble commemorating the 30th anniversary of victory
in the "Great Patriotic War"(WWII).The monument(obverse of coin)stands on
Mamayev Kurgan,a natural capitol,in Volgograd(formerly Stalingrad). This was the site of one of the most bloody engagements for the battle for Stalingrad.
The statue is called "Motherland Calls" and was the tallest statue in the world when erected in the 1960's.
