Is anyone else getting unwanted spam from Coin World? I asked them how they got my email address and they do not respond. That's cowardly.

I consider spam unprofessional and just sleazy, and no longer view Coin World favorably.

End of my rant.

I'm guessing you're sure you never gave them that info yourself, right? I know you to be the type who would have done that due diligence before posting.

That being true, the other conclusion is that someone you did give it to, provided it to them. There would be the folks you have the beef with.

Another consideration is that most sites' membership policies - which you have to accept when you register with them - usually inform you that they will possiblyalmost certainly be sharing your information with other entities under their same corporate umbrella. Yes, all the respectable places do_not sell or give your info out randomly and I'd expect CW to be one of those responsible corporate citizens, but you may be registered with someone owned by the same company which owns CW (whoever that is, I haven't looked).

Many sites you have to register with have a checkbox which, by checking, authorizes them to contact you with "information" (spell s-a-l-e-s). That box is usually checked by default, and sometimes in a place off your normal attention path during the registration process.

Yes, the Internet can be a pretty greasy place, even for otherwise-respectable businesses.

Is it from CoinWorld or about CoinWorld. The latter is another trick used to verify harvested addresses.
