Hi everyone, just writing to find out how much my coin could potentially be worth. There is a stamping defect clearly visible on the top right quarter.

Any help would be gratefully received.

My guess is that it's just an off-center strike. I've seen this type of error on several coins, so I'd say it isn't too unusual. But no professional speaking.

There are cases of the metal of the inner/outer part to be struck so it expands on the surface of the other metal. The inner part would't look round then.

After digging around myself, there is one on ebay with an identical fault going for a lot of money. A few others at quite a high price too..

Hi MR T

you ask how much your coin is worth

Then you state some on ebay going for lots of money

I don not understand why ask if you already know the value

The reason I asked is that I only found the post on ebay after I had posted on here.

In addition, I also wanted to know if this was an accurate assessment of the value so I thought I would ask people who know about coins as my knowledge is nil.
