I found this coin in an antique shop for $2. It was listed a 1739/5 British Farthing. I knew nothing about it but for $2 it was hard to pass up an 1739 copper piece. I now know it's a 1/4 penny but nothing else. Any help or comments are appreciated. Thanks!

In this condition, a nominal price of $2 is OK, I certainly would have bought it for that price. They can be very expensive in EF condition, typically in the $400 to $500 price range.
Like the contemporary copper coins that circulated in North America, they saw a lot of circulation, and were never recalled to be struck into new coinage.

$2 sounds right to me. Its a common date, no varieties to speak of (I couldnt find a 1739/5 overdate). George II had a pretty uneventful reign, but was the last king to ride into battle with his armies.
