Thoughts on grade please
I was thinking au58 bUT looking at slabbed examples ms coins can have the flat hair spot as well as an undefined left corn ear which are the only signs of what I would think to be circulation wear it's a real beauty in hand

I'm on board with 55. With iffy strikes like these, what you see that isn't original has more bearing, and the marks in various places - and the preponderance of them (albeit all small) in the fields - convinces me it's circulated. Look around STATES for evidence of how much handling is visible in the fields.

The first 8 in the date looks like it is repunched to the east.

I could see this as an AU55.

Whoa... good call ohi82, they are ALL repunched! With the 3 being the best. I'll get mag pics soon, is this a good thing?

There's a ton of repunching in this series. If you're bringing mag to bear, have a look at the 1 as well because if the perspective is correct in your images, it's pretty interesting.

I surprised myself with these babies. Clean, clear and tight. My zoom skills are improving

Kinda figured as much, although I can only see so much with my phone. Is there a die crack that goes diagonally across the date from the lower right to the upper left?

Here is a website for the various RPD of the Liberty nickel series;

The crack runs through the *bottom* of the date numerals. It looks more parralel than slanted though

I would grade an AU50 !! Looks like most of you say AU55 but I think that's a little high. Good news is about the same value.
