Is it? I'm asking because I will be owning this coin it seems. My question of course is whether the grade will stand w/ NGC -PCGS or not, and, what era in PCI's co. history would this holder be from? Era as in "good grading generally or bad)?

Comments welcome...

I've never seen or heard of PCI before, but that coin does look like a MS morgan to me

I dunno, with most S mint coins you get a very sharp strike and those breast feathers look like a bad O mint strike, could be ms but I'm doubtful... on the which PCI is it, Ive read up on them but can't remember the tells for a good slab. Yours was slabbed in 2012. Not sure if they hired that master grader yet by then? Curious though

I have never heard of PCI looks like a knock off grading service....I am very hesitant buying grading coins unless they are from ICG, ANACS, NGC, or PCGS. Obverse looks Mint state, but the reverse is probably XF to low au range especially with the weak strike. San Francisco had pride in their coins and they very rarely made weakly struck coins unlike New Orleans. I would guess gradewise probably Au-50 to AU-55 max...

Here's a better shot (the only other...) of the reverse:

So here's the deal: this coin in just MS61 will bring $1100+

Like this one:

If I complete the transaction I'm in the coin for $690. I actually bid on it by accident! (I know: how can that happen?) I looked right at it w/ 2 min. to go and "saw" a 93s. No, I wan't smoking crack but I will admit to a little whisky before I went looking about on ebay.

Well you won't know what you really got til you get it. Hopefully it looks better than photos and you got yourself a great deal. I would possibly repost here with better more in depth photos. If people agree on a higher grade maybe break it out of the holder and send it into NGC or PCGS

Agreed. Here's a 60 that sold for $970 + a 14% (another 135 bux!) almost exactly a year ago today.

I see AU 58... I would highly advise AGAINST buying at anywhere near $700. probably a $400ish coin at best. If you can pull out do it.

Cascade at worst I have a 14 day return policy w/me paying return shipping... that sounds fair. In hand it could look a lot better. The seller's pix are at least as bad as the ones I take! lol!
