Hi, I new to all this and wonder if anyone may be able to help,I have a Canadian 1887 five cent piece in reasonable condition and would like to know if it is rare because if you look at the front,(with crown and laurels) then spin the coin the head is upside down ,many thank's ,mark

Sounds like a rotated die but if you give us a couple pics either in a 2x2 cardboard flip or holding it over a mirror then we could tell you how many degrees out it is, and the ball park value. condition is important

Hi, Thank you for your reply,i have tried to take pic's with no luck,but the reverse side is 180%,do's that make sense?

All Canadian silver coins prior to 1908 were struck with the up-down orientation you describe.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
