Here is a 1975 PL Nickel Dollar that I found in 1975. I went through thousands of PL sets that year and only found a few of these. It's on the Attached Jewel variety. I also show an area in front of the trader that seems like clash to me but not sure.

I found a few of these sets to. There is another marker line from the luggage to the bottom arm of the front canoeist. All the ones I found were also Attached Jewl but nice Cameos. Sent one into ICCS a week ago and I will post how they graded it in a few weeks. There are also 5 more nice varieties with 1975 Ghost Island Dollars in these 1975 sets. I have them all.

My clashed dies were not cameo at all. Just run of the mill PLs. I reported upon what I coined the "Ghost Islands" dollars many years ago in Canadian Coin News. I found a nice batch of these looking through 1975 PL dollars in 1980 (the same day I found the clashes). Seems to me that they were PL cased dollars. I sold them off a long time ago and don't know if I even kept one. The ones I had (maybe still have one) all had an interesting die gouge at the rear of the canoe.

One of the few years whereby the exact same die clash can be found on the PL and business strikes... Once again Ken, your photos are incredible...

I'm really enjoying looking at all your incredible examples Ken. Your photographs and descriptive detail are so amazing that it enables me to examine my own collection in an entirely different way. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.

Roger,
I had no idea this could also be found on a business strike. Thanks!

Ken - I have a whole coin tube full of the 1975 business strike die clashes, and would be happy to send you one in MS-63 or better...

The 1975 varieties are one of my favorite series. Ken with the #1 Ghost Island Dollar here are some other interesting spikes that I found on this Dollar. I also sent one of these to ICSS for grading and I should have it back in a couple of weeks. I managed to find a hand full of these sets and e-bay buyers cleaned me out what I had extra. These are very tough to come by!

A 1975 mint state business strike, with this clash, is in the mail Ken. My apologies for the shipping delay - it has been a busy month for me with travel and work.
PS - a few other coins are in the package too, including what I called VCR #18 & #19 in the 67th edition of the Charlton Catalogue.
All coins are yours to keep...
Roger
