Those are some great examples with great detail. I picked up 4 random ones not too long ago that stumped me for a while.

I really like that 2nd one, great coin of a little known culture!

The portrait on the first one is amazing. It looks like modern art.

Really great examples. I don't know that I'd seen any in that good of condition of those types before.

those are fantastic BL..what is the reverse on your first coin?

man, the details are super, the second one has a full legend, that's kind of unusual isn't it?

great coins!

Thanks, Chris. Regarding the first coin: the reverse on the bronze tets of the Uncertain Early Arsacid Kings (Van't Haaff types 10.3 and 10.4) depicts a diademed, bearded head, left, with a degraded legend around, forming a square frame around the head. I have four of this type and none of them shows the head very well (which is typical for these later issues in this particular sub-series).

I believe the obverse legends on the Kamnaskires-Orodes tets (the second coin) are actually usually pretty readable, but occasionally clipped due to a tight flan. My other one of these, at this link, has a decent ('tho not as good as the one above) legend showing too: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/ga...p?pos=-69523

Boblgases, wonderful additions, holy smokes.

I have number 1 but number 2 is on my want list. Most of the time the faces are beat or the surfaces have seen hard times. Your example is exquisit. Wonderful.

Let me fruit that....

here is min number 1.

Thanks for the fruit, Noob! That's a really nice example you've got...the reverse legend is in better shape (less degraded) than with most I've seen.

Nice, Chris. I love the bizarre-ness of the Kamnaskires-Orodes and Orodes II (which is your drachm, as per Van't Haaff) portraits...it's like these guys just put a wet finger in an electrical outlet.
