I can just barely make out a date of 1887: (oops...1987!)

Dang, as far as pocket change goes, that is a pretty cool find. Normally I would view the post and move one, but I just needed to say thanks for posting. It is just further proof that I need to search what I get back as change more closely.

Sadly, that's 1987, not 1887. The Philippines were a Spanish colony back in the 1800's, not a Republic.

Oh well...I didn't expect it to be worth anything It's so corroded that I could've sworn that was an 18...

Sir, that's a Philippine Juan Luna 25 centavos coin minted in 1967 during President Ferdinand Marcos time. Sorry, it has no worth.
