This is a neat doubled die that came in quite a few years ago.

mgillette,
This was one of a number of famous Masons on the series put out years ago by FM. At one time I owned two partial sets. These were one of the few items FM made with really good resale value.

From that Coneca page (emphasis mine):

Quote:
Subject: Paul Revere medal struck by the Franklin Mint in 1967 for the International Fraternal Commemorative Society.

Mintage: The society issued a 50-piece set of 39 mm sterling silver medals honoring famous Freemasons in a limited edition of 1,293 sets. This one of them.

Comments: Contains an obverse doubled die that I would have completely missed it wasn't for collector/researcher Dave Andreas who expressed an interest in any medals designed by Felix Oscar Schlag of Owosso, MI (1891-1974). On his list of medals were two pieces that I had in stock including our subject coin. Quite frankly, I wouldn't have given this medal a second look if it weren't for Adreas pointing out the fact that Schlag had designed it. Schlag is the designer of the Jefferson niclel.

How many US coin designers also design(ed) for the Franklin Mint? That's pretty neat.

And was the resale value because of the silver content, the designer, or the subject matter?

xshift,

Gilroy Roberts worked for Franklin Mint.

Interestingly, Sherl Joseph Winter, designed a silver bar from me in 1973 (based on images I supplied) when he worked for Mount Everest Mint.
