What are your opinions on the " S " AM ?
I have gone through the Constantine captive coins and cant find any examples with it backwards.
My 1st thought was a barbarous issue but you know more than me so I could be wrong.

Thats a good question Tenbob.
All the VIRTVS EXERCIT, both official and barbs, I have seen have a normal S.
My personal opinion is that the coin is a contempory imitation, just by the style of the lettering. I may be wrong though!
I really wish this coin was in better condition though, so we could properly I'd it.

You got it AM, contemporary imitation.
I have one of a similar style that I posted a while back, I will dig it out for a look and post a picture.

Guys,

is this common?
Is there special on this coin or just common contemporary imitation with backwards "S".

I hate to be the one to say this but I think this coin is a recent fake. The flan doesn't look right, the coin looks like it was put in a vice and flattened smashing the letters which IMO aren't what I would expect to see on this type. The patina also looks artificial.

I can fully understand why you say its a modern fake Ski, I thought it wasn't " genuine " from the start but not being learned to your level and others I take the cautious approach.
