I'm dead-lining tomorrow around 5:00 PM EST for a front page article of Numismatic News following up on the first story I wrote on these doubled dies a few weeks ago.

I'd like to include prices they have been selling for. Mainly intereted in the "big one" WDDR-004 but can use info on others too. Beyond that anything that you feel is interesting, let me know. Just google my name or Variety Vault and I'll pop up with my email address, etc.

I have been tracking their sales on the Bay every since the first Numismatic News article on them was published last month and to date the DDR-004 has sold for as low as $11.50 with free shipping, with the majority of them selling in the $75-$100 range, however, there have been two specimens that have brought $200 a piece!

Having been discovered so soon after release, the majority of them would grade MS60 and higher depending on the amount of bag marks present and the quality of the strike.

It will be interesting to see what the total pop ends up being on these, especially the DDR-004!

Personally, I think all the hype and publicity, will indeed drive the price of these much higher in the near future, until the first pop reports are established.

And depending on those numbers and where they get placed on the R-? Scale, is what will ultimately determine the true value of this variety.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that I reside west of the Mississippi, I have yet to even see a 2015-P quarter in person!

But being the optimist that I am, I went to my local bank and picked up 2 boxes of 2015-D's hoping this variety will crossover mints like the Wisconsin "Extra Leaf" variety did!

John1,

I thought about ebay and will be checking it but I was also interested in sales records going beyond the two weeks you get from ebay.

I really got all I need from JDRMCB.

NN Editor, Dave Harper just wanted me to fill a hole on the front page while he is on vacation so I suggested a follow up to this story. My space restrictions of just 200 words and up to four images will make it short and sweet.

Thanks!

I was surprised how many were up for sale on ebay and the wide range of prices they sold at. One at $16.39 another at $26 and to the top one went for $109.00.

I wouldn't be surprised too much if something did show up on the D mints. The centers, or centralized areas seem to be prime.
