I would love it. I can contribute to this idea. Just give us the details of what kind of contest you would like.

I can give away some Australian coins - but you would have to answer
Questions about Australia/Australia Coins. Just for variety.

Not about American Coins

No standing on your head needed to figure out answers.
(Questions would be from down under)
No shrimp
No barbies

I would love that. What I like about contests is the knowledge that you gain. I need a little bit of time before we kick off our first contest. Maybe we can start one on Saturday? That would give me a couple of days to make sure everything is running smooth.

I agree simple but researchable- It should not be something that a "collector" would NOT know with out having to check one book or link- Except National Dealer- I think he has all this stuff in his head

And I'm trying real hard to catch up to you. I agree that the questions should involve some type of research, even if it is information that can be found on the internet.

Thank you, ND. If you want to start a new thread, I'll make it sticky until the contest is over. That way it will stay visible throughout.

SIMPLE!!! Why that is my middle name and simple answers ought to keep me in the game! Actually the easier it is, well, the less embarrassing this could be, especially to a new or novice collector.(or someone like me) I have been collecting for 30 years and every time I get on a forum I find out just how much I DON"T KNOW and quite honestly I am amazed at the folks (collectors) who actually STUDY their coins or specific issues! I mean every little detail and then they manage to come up with die numbers? If I can just grade the darn thing I am happy so there are many of us playing in completely different ballparks when it comes to coins! Lets keep that in mind and remember I will setting over here on the bench!!!
