Anybody with an opinion on who they think the best company is? I've never sent any currency in for grading, but want to.

Wish I could help you out. I know that PCGS recently began grading currency. I am not familiar enough with currency TPGs to give a valuable opinion.

Currently there are three top services:

http://www.currencygradingcertification.com/
http://www.pmgnotes.com/
http://www.pcgscurrency.com/

If you check out the offerings from each, they all pretty much look the same. As we all know, NGC and PCGS lead the coin grading market. For many years, currency was overlooked.
Personally I like Currency Grading & Certification Service. If you check out their "features" page http://www.currencygradingcertifica...features.htm you will see why I like them. They have been around a few years, and are well accepted throughout the hobby. The added benefits of a Population Report are well worth the investment.

I like the fact that NGC and PCGS have started grading notes as it "hopefully" will tighten up the standards a little. Of course we all know how well that has worked with coins, but let me keep a little hope
