This bill is not genuine.
The Amercian Banknote Company printed quality products.
This bills are fakes from some bad guys.
You can buy them on ebay.

The American Banknote Company never produced this bad quality.

It is an interest coupon cut from a specimen bond. It is not paper money.

I would not pay more than $5.00 for it.

This is definitely genuine, but of no real value, not even $5 in my opinion. I encourage collectors not to buy these. It is from a specimen bond printed by American Bank Note for review.

Coupon bonds paid interest, usually every six months, and at that time a coupon was clipped off and returned to the company. Long-term bonds of 30 years or more often had more than 50 coupons attached. Shady dealers clip these off and sell them individually to novice collectors, then sell the bond without mentioning that coupons were once attached. As an example, here is a coupon sheet from a specimen railroad bond in my collection.
