I was thinking die clash and Struck Through Grease or something for the top part of the 5. But maybe it is normal for that type of coin die strike. Thanks for your input. Jeff

If you go to this web site, then to "Attribute My Half-Dime," then to 1835, you'll see all the 1835 varieties, and maybe you can attribute yours:

Jeff,

Definitely a die clash of the eagle's wing in front of Liberty's face. Very common with this issue.

I think the image of the wing in front of the bust is actually indirect die transfer and not a die clash.

No, this is a clash artifact. It's a known feature of LM-7.

I'm thinking indirect die transfer (ghosting) as well. Clashmarkss tend to have sharp edges. This is an indistinct bulge, and that fits better with ghosting

please educate me(not sarcasm, I am very curious).

when you say artifact do you mean there was a clash and the edges are rounded from die wear or polishing or something?
