This is a photo that Fred Weinberg had printed from the original negative. From the back of the photo: "(January 1894) "PA. Phila. U.S. Mint Coiners Counting Room $100,000 in Gold Displayed" Newly Minted Double Eagles (From Original Glass Negative, owned by Fred Weinberg) Compliments of Fred Weinberg & Co.... http://www.fredWeinberg.com"Another photo 15 minuets later. That's me looking in the window! Disclaimer: I should mention that putting me in the window was not an original idea. Some years ago, somebody cloned Syd Cass and Fred Weinberg into that same window. Edited by koinpro 05/27/2015 9:22 pm

Cascade, That is one cool scale. I have a couple neat ones here for farm use. I think they are in my extra vehicle piled up with antique junk. I keep saying I'm going to go to a flea market and dump, but I still got it all.

The basic coin sorting/counting machine as we know it was not invented until the early 1970s, as I understand it. Remarkable if true, given the automatons, slot machines and other arcade gizmos that easily date to the time of this photo.

MsPenny & All, The person to thank is Fred Weinberg. He's been passing out post-card size photos of this for years. He gave me an 8x10 that I placed in a Lucite display stand and taken to many shows and I can't tell you how many folks try to buy it.
