Hi. I was woundering if this is a chipped mint mark on my 1970 S penny. Or is it something that happened while it was getting put in rolls? On the reverse, I see a mark on the pillar next to Lincoln? The last question is about the initials FG, not quite sure whats going on there. Thanks!

The S looks like it took a hit, the reverse looks like a die chip and the FG Try putting a piece of paper or a paper towel between the coin and the light source.

Looks like a skull and the rib cage and shoulder blades and arms? Yeah I see it. But lets not get out of hand here guys. Focus on the coin please.

Really? We have all looked at coins to long, I am seriously trying to learn. I have over $25.00 of uncirculated 1970 S BU coins from the mint that got passed down to me from a safety deposit box. They are really tough for a beginer. So far this is the only one with what appears to be missing half the mint mark.

Did you check to see if the 1970-s you have are any small dates?

I agree, you should learn how to identify the small date and be checking for them.
