Its a spanish gold dobloon, I cannot say much more...
It has no mint mark, no year and no legend...
This was usual in the first coins minted in the new world, a lot of these coins were lighter and much more debassed than they were supposed to be, and the mint officers were very interested in that state of things...
They earned a lot of money producing debased money, but if that could be proved they were going to end theirs days beheaded (if they were lucky or powerful enought, or more usually at the "garrote vil" a very cruel machine that cut your breath very slowly).
The way to avoid that was no giving any information about what mint, what year or what mint masters struck the coin.

Hello Athalbert
Thanks for the answer, as I understand it is a Spanish coin (use google translator), to the authenticity would not know, I do not think that in Italy there are experts of these coins

What's its diameter/thinkness?

6.8gr sounds alright for a somewhat small gold coin.
The surfaces of the coin look worn but not grainy, suggesting it's genuine.
I can say more more than that for now, I know next to nothing about medieval and earlier coins.

Old coins usually have irregular shapes due to the way they were produced.

20mm also seems reasonable for gold, I think. I can't see any evidence that's speaking against it being genuine.

The surface of the piece looks like it has a gold wash, the design is very crude more so than what I've seen on coins of this type. The piece just does look right to me. I going to move this over to the World Coin section, where I feel you would get better information. Also if this piece is real it would be later the 1600 and not fall into this section.
