I found this 1988-D Lincoln Cent today, does the mint mark look large to you?

BTW, I'm trying out my new QX5 microscope for this picture.

Don't you mean 98-D? Perhaps it's due to your lighting setup, but this particular mm looks struck deeper than the half-dozen I looked through, and the serifs seem less pronounced. Yet, aren't the mm added to the master dies nowadays?

KurtS, it is a 1988-D, the picture was just centered between the 9 & 8 without showing the whole date,

The D just looks too big to me like it doesn't belong on a cent, maybe the punch was intended for a nickel? Then again I guess it could just be smashed flatter then normal.
