Congrats on adding another Kushan, Ron. These Kujula Kadphises AE's seem to almost always be in rough shape...I would imagine due to a combination of minting practices and wear. Yours is a decent example of the type, as good as or better than most I've seen. Herakles holding the lion skin on the reverse is a bit easier to see on yours than on many examples.
I'm slowly building a Kushan AE collection, but have a long, long way to go before it's respectable...it's a low (third tier) priority for me, but it is fun hunting for new stuff.

Thanks Bob, I have another of these which isn't as good, so when I saw this one I grabbed it.

I do not know anything about these but it is an interesting looking coin. If you do not mind my asking, why do you collect in this area? What attracted you to coins of this type?

I just don't collect in this area, I also collect classical ancient coins. This is a large area of the ancient world with a history as interesting as Rome or Greece that has been overlooked by most collectors but is now starting to take hold. In the past year coins of the Eastern empires have doubled and tripled in price.

Ron, They don't get much better than that. As far as I am concerned it is an excellent example. In general the copper coins of this region don't hold up well.
@ orfew - Ron is correct. In the last couple of years the price of "other" ancient coins has double/ tripled. I am confident the more we talk about it the higher the prices will go.
When you start moving east of Europe you begin to realize how small the Roman Empire actually was and how big the world really was. It's much, much smaller now.

Thanks Nate, I was hoping you would reply, seems like you, I and, Chris are the few that like these type of coins. Oh well that's good for us, the less folks that like them the cheaper they remain.
