I have been collecting these and managed to find the older versions from 2011 and 2012 which were only 10,000 mintages. More difficult than I thought to find. There are subtle differences each year, $4 in 2011 with French and English, changes in the frosting, proof, reverse proof to the incused version in 2015. Kind of a neat set I thought I would share. They seem to be consistent in appreciating in value. People are baby crazy. Pardon the lint.

This year's issue is still available from the mint, website mint.ca. I found the older issues by alerts from Canadian Coin and Currency. You can sometimes find them at Colonial Acres. Talisman has the 2015.

Very neat set / series , SilverDon, congrats for getting these.
I started to think to get these and continue (but probably will leave the idea - do not want to be overloaded). The reason to have - not once people asking to "get something 'lucky' coin for specific year of birth".
In my opinion, the "Silver Loon" format of 2006-2008 is the best, but since has been discontinued, the current series from 2011 is also nice.
As per collection of 1/2oz , I running the 2011-now "Maple Leaf (Forever)", as having more variety, but as per investment - "Birth" silvers are better.

One of the reasons as to why this series has kept it's worth is because there isn't too many in the secondary market. It's a gift coin that's not easily sold off as it usually has some sentimental value. The parents won't likely sell it and the recipients ares still a little too young. I frequently get requests for these coins at the store.

I agree TheCoinHunter, I have been scanning ebay for them (especially 2012), none around. Like I said I use the wish list on those sites and have e-mail alerts when something comes available or else they are gone right away. Sentimental value is strong.

Today I received this email from Imaginaire, noting the availability of a 2012 Welcome to the World 1/2 ounce coin. I thought the price offered was nice, I'm glad I picked mine up in 2015 for $89.95 from CC&C. The mintage was 10,000 and this one may be the best of the series for increase over issue price of $59.95. I have responded, got it thanks. 2017 version is out now. Translated from French Hello,
There are a few times, you had entered your email address on our website to be notified when the product "Baby 10 $ 2012 - Welcome back" was available.
We currently have a copy in the hands, priced at $ 249.99 and we want you to offer it first. Indeed, as we have a great demand for this product, we have not been available on our website to avoid disappointing many people who would like to buy at the same time.
If you are interested, let us know as soon as possible and we will agree a deal with you. If we have no news from you within the next week, we will offer it to someone else.

You have an issue, SilverDon Since you collect these, you will see how the value increases for the early coins, but without possibility to sell the coin, in order not to destroy the completeness of the set

I agree Silveroid, there may come a day when a trade for other coins may break the set. If it is a coin that I really want, 1948 Silver Dollar, I would flip that 2012 Welcome coin in a heartbeat.

This is good idea, SilverDon.
At the end, this is a set of nice and expensive (on the secondary market) NCLTs, without "real" numis value. While trade for valued, due to it's uniqueness, coin, could be great.
