Hi,

So why are they're 1oz silver coins all over ebay selling below the spot price of silver right now?

Here are a few examples on this search at Australian ebay:

Weird, isn't it? How about this sheet of 32 Silver Maple Leafs for US $480? That's $15 each. Free shipping, too. Appears to be a first-time seller. I'll pass on this one.

I've even noticed a 1kg silver coin for $700 but don't search for it because I want to buy it.

Thanks around 55-60% less than spot price!

It's not a fake either as far as I can tell.

A 1kg silver coin for $700 comes out to $21.77 per troy ounce... about $5 over spot unless I am mistaken.

Wow! I really had better concentrate more.

Sorry everyone I was mistaken.

I read the wrong price for spot. Oops.

But even if it were correct, it wouldn't surprise me. Because the awful thing about ebay is that it perpetuates a race to the bottom.
