My favorites are
For all US paper money - The Friedberg Red Book and the Friedberg Paper Money of the United States.
For small size paper money - Schwartz & Lindquist small size US paper money.
For National Currency Notes - The Don C. Kelly National Bank Notes. ( This book is awesome )

These are all solid choices. Fact is, there aren't that many books available in the currency field. You might also think about a subscription to the monthly Bank Note Reporter.

For general information about collecting US paper money try Carlson Chambliss' book US Paper Money Guide and Handbook. It discusses the various types of US paper money. It is not a catalog and does not have pricing information. Nevertheless it is an excellent treatise on collecting paper money.

Another solid choice would be Chambliss and Hessler's Comprehensive Catalogue of US Federal Large-size notes 1851-1929. Tons of information,
