Any ideas on a low cost digital camera for taking pics of coins. I have a 150 dollar budget. Thanks

You get what you pay for and $150 won't get you anything NEW that would be useful.
Look on ebay for some used point-and-shoot cameras.
Find something still working and research it on the Internet.
You definitely want something:
-- macro capable
-- adjustable white balance
Anything 6 mpixels or better will work well (I had good results with a 3.6 mpixel Coolpix 995).

The above should be your starting point.

Depends on what you want to do with the camera pic wise.

Start looking at Canon Rebel XS, you can get used for your budget.

Look at the thread "rookie needing advice". Those shots were taken with an Olympus SZ-17 its a $150-$170 point and shoot. SsuperDave thinks its a good point and shoot for coins.
If you get a canon EOS rebel XS (I recently did) the camera body can be had for $110-150. But you will need to buy a lens, extension tube or bellows some adapters and probably a stand. at least another $200.

I've seen Rebel XS go for as low as $85. You could make a <$150 setup if you bought a $15 50mm enlarger lens, a set of extension tubes, and a focus helicoid.

Just ordered The Olympus SZ-17 from Amazon. I should get it tomorrow. I saw some of the rookie pics and liked what I saw. After a lot of research I pulled the trigger. Thank you for all of your help.
