I am not into Metal Detecting yet... but this article excited me. It's a mazing that an 8-real was found in the sand near San Francisco... a very populated area. I am sure there are plenty metal detectors there...

That's a cool find! I'll wager a guess that was found somewhere in the Marin headlands.

Very cool find, but the estimates on the value of the coin seem off. $50,000?

That's only if it's in good cond. Since, the coin he found is damaged they said it's most likely worth $50 - $3000.
