Hi!

My friend wish to sell one of his coins nad asked me for some help. Unfortunately French coins from XIXth century are completely out of my interests and I am unable to help him. I only assume that it's some kind of specimen, but I'm not 100% sure.

Diameter: 32 mm
Weight: about 24.75g
Thickness: about 2.7 mm

Could you tell me anything about this coin and how much it's worth? And what about the double die on the reverse?

Thanks!

It's not a "double die". It's apparently been struck twice with the same die; the first time was off-centre and about 180 degrees rotation.

numismatic biz, thanks a lot.

Sap, yes of course, you're absolutely right. I can only say that my mistake is a result of very long day - and when I was writing one think I thought about "double die" effect and of course I wrote down this.

So, the fact that coin was struck twice somehow affect on the price? Coin is worth more or less?
