What exactly is this? How common is it and what date approx? Is it genuine?

It's 43mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick and weighs 15 grams approx.

It's not an actual coin, if that's what you were hoping. The design on the obverse is taken from Qian Long cash coins from the 1700s, but no cash coin, large or small, ever had an elaborate design like that on the reverse.

Being large, this "coin-like charm" is intended to be nailed up on the wall of a house. It's likely not very old, late 20th century at the oldest, made in either China or Vietnam.

Well, for $1.20 it's worth it. I was puzzled when I saw the reverse. It looked like any cash coin to me except from the reverse. Thanks for your opinion
