I picked this up today at a flea market for $18. I have searched the Internet for some more information about it, but have come up empty. The number on the rim is kind of hard to see in my picture, but it is 1702 which is next to the fineness mark. I'm curious as to how many of these were actually produced. Any help, as always, appreciated!

It's not listed in "Ontario Municipal and Commemorative Medals," although a Petrolia centennial medal for 1966 is listed. There's no photo, but one may have sold for $25 last year:

Nice looking medal.

Thank you for the info, chequer! The pictures don't really do it justice, it is really shiny in hand. I am really curious to know how many were minted. I will add it to my list of coins/tokens to obsess over

I have one from the 1874-1974 strike. The rim number is 2015. I am thinking it is a total strike number.
