echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 06/14/2015 07:49 am This is a tough one, based on the picture alone. The background used drowns out the color of the coin so it doesn't look gold. These stater's of Alexander had a high gold content. The piece doesn't appear to be cast. One problem that does stand out is the next to the last letter O in ALEXANDROY, in every original example I've seem that letter is little more than a dot. Here it is clearly a well defined O. The weight should be in the range of 8.5 grams. IMO this is a very nice fake of and Alexander III Stater. Report this Post to the Staff
