The provincials from Thessaly are not particularly rare in general but this is one of the scarcer types. Picked it up quite reasonably and didn't pick what it was off the bat so thought it would be an interesting piece to share. Faustina II. 145-175. Tetrassarion or Sestertius (Bronze, 30mm, 20.41 g). OBV: Draped bust of Faustina II to right, her hair bound in a knot at the back. REV: Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear. Burrer MA-G 5. Doing a bit of research on the piece after I bought it, the only other sale of the coin I could find was from the Nomos BCD Sale of Thessaly.
