New Error On 2005 D Nickel? What Caused This?

Here is a 2005 D Bison Nickel that I found in an unopened box that I just purchased. There is an extra D by the mintmark, but it is backwards. What would something like this be worth? And what caused this? This coin is uncirculated. Please help me out and tell me what you think.

Picture is a little dark and blurry. Lighter and clearer picture would really help. Maybe one of the Moderators will move this over to the Varity section.
