I picked up this half yesterday and after getting it home,I started to study it closer, and noticed it had a little extra silver on it.To the right of the 5 there is a dash and a raised line. And on the reverse, the lower right of the shield,in between the bars, looks like a die chip?
Anyhow, could I get a little help figuring out the variety on his one? Also any other thoughts you might want to share?

The date might be an over date, or just scratches. Can we get larger, closer pics please?

I've seen this date with even more pronounced squaring in the shield. Not sure what it is. Clash?

I was able to find other examples on Heritage showing the same feature in the reverse shield.

This one actually shows what I think is termed an interior die break http://coins.ha.com/itm/seated-half...0103.s#Photo

Thanks for the links MeadowviewCollector.
The second one is close, but,no cigar. The mark on the shield has a little bit different shape and there is a clash mark in between Liberty's head and Her staff, that doesn't show on My coin.
It does appear to match with the coin kkirby99 posted though.
kkirby99,is that coin one of Yours?

Sorry, but these pictures are the best I can do until after harvest and then I'll be able to update My camera set-up.

No I was thinking about getting it because of the mark in the shield but after looking around, I saw that it was quite prevalent in the 1858. I've also seen a similar mark in the 58-O so I don't know what is going on.

Cross-eyed on the David Lawrence link to the 1858 varieties, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, take a look at WB-105

https://www.davidlawrence.com/books...y-date/1858/

I wish I could find an already attributed WB-105 with good photos to positively confirm my thinking. Dick Osburn has one attributed but no pictures.

That's where the upper leg and elbow would clash, so the cause of the shield features are obvious. From what little information to be had about the variety, it looks like WB-105.

The WB-105 does match the lines just to right of the 5.
However,I got to looking at the second 8,the bottom left of the top loop, and it has very small, inward curved shelf.I don't know if it is part of a die clash or an over-date.It doesn't follow the line of the inner loop of the 8 like MD or DD.
Just for the record, the first four stars going up the right side have what looks like machine damage also.
But,from what your telling Me,I'm happy with WB-105 being there isn't much information on them.
Thanks everyone!
