I enjoy bullion coins from all over the World. Post some examples of low mintage, rare, bullion coins for others in this forum! I will start ...

Here is an example of the 2014 Horse Chinese Character Double Privy Maple. Mintage = 1000, only 500 sets known to have been sold. I've only ever seen this coin 3 times! A cleaned, damaged version of this coin sold for $800!

... and the 2013P Chinese Privy Koala. Total mintage of 10,392 ... likely less than 2500 surviving examples. Examples of these coins only come up once every couple months on the Australian ebay site. I saw an MS70 example off this coin sell for $1100!

I have some old bars. Not sure if they are RARE but there are probably not as many as there used to be. My mom is getting a phone today with a good camera so I might be able to upload pics soon.

@JGG:

I personally don't collect bullion and don't believe in purchasing "low-mintage" bullion, however, I'd interested to know how the survival rate for a collector bullion coin made not two years ago is now less than 25%? Obviously anybody who buys these coins are paying premium prices many times the intrinsic value so I couldn't imagine anybody wanting to send them in for melting or damaging them.

Don't know much about rare bullion coins but I do know that matttheriely was selling some obscure and rare bullion rounds here not too long ago. Maybe he'll come and post some pictures if he has anything else interesting.

Here is the cut-and-paste description (not mine):

---------------------------
VERY SELDOM SEEN ULTRA RARITY - CANADA S$5 HORSE WITH CHINESE CHARACTERS DOUBLE PRIVY MAPLE. SOLD EXCLUSIVELY FOR TWO MONTHS BY THE BANK OF CHINA AND THE CHINA CONSTRUCTION BANK OF SHANGHAI. TOTAL MINTED = 1000. HOWEVER, LESS THAN 500 PIECES WERE SOLD. EXCLUSIVELY SOLD IN CHINA.

The Canada S$5 Horse w Chinese Characters Double Privy Maple was produced exclusively for the Bank of China's "World Prestige Set of Bullion Coins". A total of 500 of these sets were issued by the Bank of China, and China Construction Bank of Shanghai. The set included: 1x G$15 2014P Kangaroo Chinese Characters Privy, 1x S$1 2014P Koala Chinese Characters Privy, 1x G$5 2014 Canada Horse w Chinese Characters Double Privy Maple, and 1x S$5 2014 Canada Horse w Chinese Characters Double Privy Maple. The Privy Maples were very poorly struck and milk-spot damaged. The sets were unpopular and extremely expensive ($1600) and very few were sold. A picture of the original set is included in the pictures above. After a few months, the two banks stopped selling the sets. These sets are extremely rare and very difficult to obtain. There are likely very few examples of this coin floating around, almost all of which are in China or Hong Kong. Enjoy.

I don't generally go for "rare" bullion coins because all too often it's all about paying extremely high prices up front for over-hyped junk that has been colorized, had a sticker affixed to it, been minted in an interesting shape and/or minted by a country nobody has ever heard of. But here are a few that I just couldn't resist:

2012 Canada 1 oz. Silver Maple Leaf Dragon Privy [Mintage: 25,000]:

2013 Australian 1 oz. Silver Proof $1 Kangaroo (Opal Series) [Mintage: 8,000]:

2013 Niue Island 6 oz. Silver Proof $50 "FORTUNA REDUX" Cylinder Coin [Mintage: 2500]:

2008 Mexican 1 Kg. Silver $100 Calendario Azteca [Mintage: 1000]:

The only one I paid significantly over spot value for was the Fortuna Redux cylinder coin, just because it was such a unique coin, the likes of which I I didn't think we would ever see again. Well, now that I think of it, the Opal Series Kangaroo was a bit on the pricy side as well...
