Stack’s-Bowers-Galleries-Showcases-World-Coins-&-Currency-At-Upcoming-2015-World’s-Fair-Of-MoneyStack's - Stack's-Bowers Galleries is pleased to announce details of their upcoming World Coin, Ancient Coin and World Paper Money Auction, to be held in conjunction with the 2015 World's Fair of Money. The convention will be hosted by the American Numismatic Association and will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, August 11-15, 2015.

The auction offers many sensational selections from around the world. German coins feature an extremely rare and possibly unique 1591 Trier Taler, graded MS-62, and an 1806-A Prussian Double-Frederick d'Or graded MS-63 by NGC, the finest graded example by an astonishing 23-point margin. Rounding out the German offerings are several German New Guinea, Bird of Paradise 5 Mark coins, including an MS-63+ example graded by PCGS.

Among coins from France an impressive King Henry VI (1422-1461) Salut D'Or stands out, graded by NGC as MS-65 and in such pristine condition it needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. British highlights include a 1687 Guinea in MS-64 by NGC, as well as a proof 1826-Septimo Crown, one of only 150 minted, graded PF-63 by NGC. The British section is quite extensive and offers many hammered pieces, all graded by NGC or PCGS.

In addition to a large selection of Brazilian gold, the auction will feature other South American gold issues, including a stunning 1712-M Peru 8 Escudos in AU-50 by NGC. Iberian offerings include an 1845 Portugal 5,000 Reis, from a mintage of 401.

The depth of the Russian coin offering is simply breathtaking and includes an 1831/0-CNB platinum 6 Ruble in MS-62 by PCGS, an 1841 Marriage Ruble in Proof-63 by PCGS, and an 1858-CNB OB Ruble in NGC Proof-66 Ultra Cameo that possesses full black and white contrast.

Among other European issues there is a fabulous run of Swiss Talers from the 18th and 19th centuries. Many are finest, tied for finest, or close to finest graded, and many are pedigreed to the Q. David Bowers collection.

The Ancients section features number of magnificent offerings including a Syracuse AR Decadrachm by Euainetos, a Ptolemiac Egypt AV Octodrachm, and a late Roman Empire Honorius (as Emperor) gold piece (unique), as well as Etruscan pieces such as an Eturia Gold 25 Asses in an absolutely sensational state of preservation.

From the world currency team at Stack's Bowers, expect over 200 showcase lots with several concentrations of important notes. A very strong selection of Brazilian notes displays a major emphasis on quality. Several rare designs will be offered that are the finest we have ever handled and top the PMG population reports. Other important rarities include a marvelous selection of British Commonwealth, with many notes representing the finest available material.

All in all, the Stack's Bowers Galleries official World's Fair of Money auction is a terrific opportunity to add some highly sought after material to your collection, no matter what your collecting focus may be. In addition to the Showcase sessions the week of the convention, there will be a series of Internet-only sessions the following week, with live online bidding at the close of each session. As there are many terrific world coins, ancients, and bank notes in these sessions, be sure to acquaint yourself with these offerings as well.

Stack's-Bowers Galleries has scheduled extensive preview opportunities for inspection of lots. Beginning at our Irvine, California offices on July 17th through the 23rd, the preview then moves on to our New York store from July 30th through August 3rd, then finally to the ANA Show in Rosemont from August 8th through the 15th. Be sure to check our website, StacksBowers.com, for specific information on the various auction sessions (including many important United States offerings), running the entire week of the show.

And of course no announcement would be complete without a reminder that when you are ready to sell, Stack's Bowers is your best choice. We offer professional handling of your collection, with a proven track record of accomplished sales. Currently, we are accepting consignments for our November Baltimore, December Hong Kong, and January NYINC sales, and we would be delighted to hear from you. We can be reached at 949-253-0916 or via email at info@StacksBowers.com.

In addition, we will have a booth at the annual COINEX coin fair in London in September, please stop-by and visit us.
