Sometimes when I look at the ebay bids for a coin, I see that the bidder is listed as "private listing - bidders' identities protected."

What's the deal with that? Some super secret pinky ring club? Are these Arab oil sheiks bidding on my $10 coin? Aren't bidders generally private anyway--x***y? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

The seller I think has the option to make his listings private. For actually the buyers sake when looking at feedback. You cant see exactly what they purchased and for how much. I actually really like this way in dealing with coins and what not on ebay.

Personally I will not bid on a coin with this listing.
To me it is a way to protect someone from shill bidding.
I always look at other bidders profile to see their bidding history.
I once confronted a seller who was shill bidding and a couple of days
later his bidders were all under"private listing".
Rest in Peace

with JimmyD. I don't even bother with sellers/ auctions with "private" listings.

Yeah, private listings are a bit of a turn-off fur shure, but imo sometimes sellers are just paranoid. If the price is right I'll bid.

I Agree With JimmyD. if it's a private listing I do not bid no matter how good of a deal it might be.These private listings are unacceptable to me
