So I made a mistake on the bay. I put a coin for sale on more than 1 site, ebay being one of the,. Within minutes it sold and I had forgotten to take it off from the sites. And about an hour later someone bought it again.

All I could do is cancel it, which is what I did. But I am asking for advice in terms of going about it. It was my mistake, and I should deal with the consequences. So should I send the buyer another coin for free as courtesy, should I just cancel it and forget it?

Thanks for any tips. It's the first time I run into this issues

We all make mistakes now and then. I wouldn't attach any moral obligation to a miscue like this, I mean it's only a coin sale. Just my opinion.

If the shoe was on the other foot....what would YOU expect the seller to do? Communication to me would be the key to this ending "nicely" or "ugly" I would reach out to the second buyer and apologize for my mistake as step one and go from there. JMHO but I never sold on ebay before I have only been the "customer" Good luck and keep us posted. Don't beat yourself up. Things happen when you run a business and none of us are perfect!

Explain the situation, most buyers are understanding as long as you're honest and polite with them. Cancelling the transaction will still count as a defect on your ebay account.

Imo, with the elegant excuse, you can offer to the second buyer, the free shipping, for any other coin (s), that he we will buy from you.
