Hi JonL

I can understand your disappointment with some of ebays Deals?

Just so you know !! there is a forum rule that requires 50 posts to buy and sell on the forum,, Please know that this rule is in place to help protect both parties in a transaction, and in no way is meant to imply anything about any particular person!!

It just allows everyone to get to know a little about each other,

Rick

Dealers? We have dealers here on the forum? All kidding aside, there are several here on the forum, and I would recommend each and everyone of them. Some I have worked with and others are only known here, but their willingness to join this community to spread a little knowledge without the condition of reward tells me a lot about their character.
It seems from your post that you have an interest in Roman coinage. If this is indeed the case, you may wish to check out http://www.forumancientcoins.com/
I am not a member of that particular site, but have viewed it a few times and it is more specifically geared towards the ancients market.
Once you have your 50 posts here on this forum, take advantage of the "want to buy" section.

I have also spent some time on the ancient coin forum National Dealer posted. I purchased an excellent book from them also. It was an easy transaction and they shipped very quickly.
Rest in Peace

JonL, like all other games in life, ya gotta know the rules before you play. ebay is especially tricky since a lot of the rules are unwritten, one being pictures and sellers often lie. [:0] I don't think there's an eBayer among us who didn't get burned early on in his/her ebay experience. Once you learn how the system works, ebay can be rewarding, profitable, and a lot of fun.

There's a wealth of experience in the ebay Discussions part of this forum http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...p?FORUM_ID=4 . The moral of this story is: don't give up on ebay because of a single bad experience. Just learn the way it works, seek advice from others, learn from mistakes, and you'll do well.
