I don't know. Logically, the top floor of a very large building would seem like a strange place to keep a very heavy treasure.

I concur with tkbslc. I wonder what the team's evidence is for this finding. I also noted they said silver reserves were most likely at the Acropolis, but they didn't know where. Perhaps some sort of underground vaults/tunnels?

Offerings at that place would be grandiose and would need to be stored at the site. I wouldn't be surprised if priceless treasures were buried in the area and haven't been discovered still.
