"Parthenon Attic May Have Been Storage Place for Millions of Silver Coins"
"Millions of silver coins may have been stored in the attic of the Parthenon, one of the most famous structures from the ancient world, a research team says"
I concur with tkbslc. I wonder what the team's evidence is for this finding. I also noted they said silver reserves were most likely at the Acropolis, but they didn't know where. Perhaps some sort of underground vaults/tunnels?
Offerings at that place would be grandiose and would need to be stored at the site. I wouldn't be surprised if priceless treasures were buried in the area and haven't been discovered still.
