Lombard Bank is issuing a limited edition silver ingot to commemorate the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Malta.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as Head of the Commonwealth, shall open the conference.

The Queen has given her approval for her effigy to be reproduced on this ingot. The Malta Government and the Commonwealth Secretariat too have consented to the use of the official CHOGM 2005 logo on this issue.

The ingot is being struck in Switzerland in 999 Fine Silver, weighs 100g and measures 35mm x 60mm x 5mm thick. Each ingot is individually numbered, assay-marked and comes in a presentation box together with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

A free booklet on The Commonwealth and CHOGM will be distributed with each ingot ordered. The issue is limited to a maximum of 3,000 pieces, all in Proof-like condition. The selling price is Lm25 (VAT included) and the Bank has undertaken to donate to charity Lm1 for each ingot sold.

Orders for the commemorative silver ingot are being accepted at Lombard Bank branches in Malta and Gozo as well as through https://www.maltacoins.com.

The release of this silver ingot follows last year's successful entry in the numismatic field by Lombard Bank. The Bank plans to issue further ingots commemorating events of significance.
