Yea for sure the pictures make the coin look "faded and dull in red".

Wear certainly seems slight and there is significant luster in the protected areas. Luster seems more evident in the photo of the slabbed coin. AU-53 to 55 seems fair; the AU-58 awarded may be a tad generous. Terrific coin nevertheless in excellent condition. Congrats!
