For a high-end full-frame dSLR, Canon 5D for instance, six-figure shutter actuations are the norm and you should expect the camera to perform into that territory. "Lesser" dSLR's like the Canon Rebels should be good into the 50,000+ range at least. I'm not sure what if any info is available from point-and-shoots for shutter actuation, but wouldn't be surprised if the industry considered 50k snaps to be a realistic goal. Most of the ones I buy to integrate into systems are low-mileage of less than 10k, which I consider essentially new.
