My dad is an antique restorer and every now and then we find something hidden away in some long forgotten cabinet. This time it was a tin containing about 50 french coins from the mid to late 1800's and this Argentinian coin from 1893 that appears to have likely stopped a bullet in it's lifetime. Thought some of you might get a kick out of this :)

Charlie.

Very low-power, low-caliber bullet to cause that little damage. If that is what it is, then it is a very cool find.

May have been used for target practice, or just simply defaced judging from the reverse.

Or possibly someone just hit it with a hammer.

Looking at it now, I wonder if it was going to be someone's ring making project, given the punch in the middle and the flattened down rim.

Who knows guys. Just thought it was interesting :). The flattened back certainly makes it seem unlikely to be a bullet now I think about it.
